Not sure what to say?

Our family would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Stevens' family, too. We knew Joe from his involvement with the Shriners, more specifically the Motor Patrol, dating back to the late 60's, when the Motor Patrol was first organized. He was an incredible man, and his book of his war time experiences in defying Hitler is a must read. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I first met Joe in '72 when I started in the graphic arts field and Joe was always there with a great story or advice. I count myself fortunate to have known him and worked with him on many projects. He was a wonderful mentor and a genuine treasure. He will occupy a special place in my memories. My condolences to you all.

We have known and loved Joe for 55 years. Our families grew up together and enjoyed many, many happy times. Our sympathy and love goes out to all those in the Stevens Family who are so close and dear to us.

What wonderful inspirations Joe and Mary have left us with!

My condolences to the Stevens family. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Joe many times during the making of Defying Hitler. He was an amazing person and I always enjoyed my interactions with him. His life story was an inspiration. Amanda Reader (@ WGVU)

My sympathy to Jack and Rick. Our fathers were friends through the printing industry and my father thought so much of his friend Joe. Your father attended my father's funeral and was so very kind.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Stevens family on the passing of Joe. To know Joe was to know the best of humanity. We are forever thankful for the time he spent with us and the wisdom he provided. Thankfully, his book will be shared by generations to come. A very kind and generous man and eternal optimist.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Stevens family. To know Joe was to know the best of humanity. We are forever grateful for the time he spent with us here in Israel. Joe was always generous with his time and hospitable to all guests. His story is remarkable and thankfully documented in his book for future generations to share.
