Mr Joseph Monroe Stokes was born February 28, 1948 to the late Mr. Joseph and
Mrs. Mildred H. Stokes of Perry Georgia.
He attended the public school system of Houston County, Ga and graduated in
1966.
He worked for the Houston County of education and was married with one child
Joseph Dwayne Stokes.
Joseph was handsome, funny and charming. He joined the United States Army
and spent time serving in Korea, Germany and Virginia.
Joseph was a faithful servant of Jehovah for 29 years. He served as a ministerial
servant in Central Congregation of Norfolk, VA.
Preceding him in death is his father Joseph Stokes, his mother Mildred Stokes,
his brother Cleveland Stokes, his brother Thomas Stokes, his sister Carrie
Jackson and his aunt Carrie Taylor.
Survivors include sister Rosa Moore (Schmitt) Eugene Stokes(Rosa),
grand-daughter Semerica Stokes and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

My deepest condolences to all the family. Joe was such a loving and caring person. He always kept me laughing even when he didn’t want to laugh. I viewed Joe as a Dad to me and I will never forget him. I will keep all his family and friends in my prayers. Gn Joe, you just sleeping and I hope to see you when you wake up. Love always❤
