I knew Joe when I was in the Marines. He and I were both (at that time) stationed in Washington, D.C. at a small unit near American University. I visited his home once, and met his family in 1957, and he visited my home in Danvers, Massachusetts. this year I was thinking about him, and bumped into this obituary. I actually recognized his picture, and knew all the info about him. He had told me that when he got out, he wanted to own a smoke shop. I'm sorry now we never really connected...

I only knew Joe for 10 years but in that time I had gotten to know the kindest person and great friend. He would give you anything he had, all you had to do is ask. He was a Christian man and a hard worker who did is best to live a proper life, I am blessed to have called him my friend.
