I knew Joe when we were both members of the KalAire Flying Club. We flew together several times practicing instrument flying procedures. We also spoke often about his Austin Healey 3000. A fabulous car in it's day. Joe was a truly great guy and I'll miss my acquaintance with him.

I have always admired Joe - from multiple perspectives. He was my friend/colleague at KAMSC - hence we shared numerous levels of connectivity in those roles. We had only a few opportunities to make music together, but those were some very special moments for each of us. Our most recent ‘gig’ was at a retirement celebration for several KAMSC folk. He was an absolute prince of a human. I will miss him daily. My thoughts are with his family as I truly share your loss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe and his family during this difficult time. For more than three decades I was privileged to know Joe and to play acoustic music with him throughout southwestern Michigan. As anyone who knew him will attest, Joe was a super guy to hang out with. He always enjoyed playing his banjo and harmonica, and the related fellowship with friends throughout the music community.
