Not sure what to say?

Thinking of Sonny this morning as his Anniversary approaches... He truly was a Gem, and I was so lucky to have been able to have a great friendship with him. I remember he was always Joe Tierney Dierdre's Dad. As I became a young adult and entered into the world of Politics Sonny became my friend. I can still hear his laugh and his words of advice. He is always missed. Love, Kathi Ryan Flynn xo

To the Tierney family,

On 9/30 my father Steven Nager passed away. The Nager family were very fond of Joseph. My grandmother Mildred worked with Joe back in the sixties. She was with Bnai Brith and they helped the Jewish community in Boston get better treatment. Joe stood up against racism next to my Grammy and made a difference. My father loved Mr. Tierney. He believed that change was up to us, one at a time. I met him and his family in Brockton at my family's home for my...

Dear Deirdre and your family,

I only found out about your loss today from an article by Lawrence Harmon in yesterday's Globe mentioning the "late Joseph Tierney." Please, accept my condolences on your loss, though they are tardy. You can view it as a testimony to how important Joseph was to Boston's history that his name continues to be summoned in Boston politics.

I hope you and your family are well otherwise.

To all the Tierneys.

Reading my newspaper Parade section this morning, I was so happy to read the good news about Maura. On the other hand, I was so saddened to read about Joe. The city of Boston, South Boston and Camp Wing and the family have lost a wonderful person. We will all meet again someday and he will be opening the doors for us.

A great man has left us all too soon, but not before having made the world a better place. His legacy should be taught to students of law, political science, communications , and business, because most of those kids wouldn't even believe that a man can live by the way of "I'm here to help" without expecting anything in return. In that sense, he'll always live on as a profound inspiration.

So sorry to hear of your loss...many people have your family in their thoughts...

I hope Maura receives the love of God and has good memories of her dad. She is really a sensitive person and that is why I want the best for her.

Joe was a great guy and was always there for Southie. We all had fun working on the campaigns with Willy, Ann Marie and Kenny. Joe will be sadly missed. God Bless.

I feel sorry for you dear Maura.
God bless you and I hope you have good memories of your dad. Take care.

Best Wishes for you and your family.
