JOSEPH TIMPANE Obituary

JOSEPH THOMAS TIMPANE (Age 55)
December 29, 1960 ~ October 18, 2016  Of Amissville, VA. Joe was lost suddenly while riding his beloved Harley on a beautiful afternoon. Born in Washington, DC, Joe is survived by his large loving family. Parents, Michael and Genevieve Timpane; brothers, Mike (Jane Andersen), Paul (Sharon) and David (Anne); seven nieces and nephews to whom he was a favorite uncle, Veronica, Michael, Brandon, Marcus, Rob, Julia and Peter; long-time partner, Joan Joers Gozzo and her children, Morgan and Charlie; close cousin and cherished friend to countless others across the country.Joe was a bear of a man whose boisterous presence was full of life everywhere he went. He was a Master Carpenter and builder his entire life. Family, friends and former clients all enjoy the artistic and creative work of his hands in homes throughout the area. His great joy was working and creating wonderful projects and furniture with wood.Joe's interests were family, friends, his Harley, playing guitar, camping, deep sea fishing, laughing, and loving. Generous with his time he was always willing to help everyone who needed it. His loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him. Childless he was known as Uncle Joe to the children of his friends which is a fitting testimony to the impact of his personality and spirit.A liturgy in celebration of Joe's life will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Arlington, VA on Monday, November 7 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a charity of choice, giving time to others and making a positive impact on a child in your life.

Not sure what to say?

November 7, 2016

Hello Timpane family. This is Veldo Teal. Joe and I went to jr high school together and became friends, a friendship that lasted to this day. Joe was always the wise man in our little group of friends, and his knowledge extended beyond his years(14 at the time), and when we were together he always seemed to have his life in order. I loved him dearly and will miss him, as will my wife Judy and my twelve year old son he never had the opportunity to meet.
God bless you and your family. Love Veldo and Judy and VJ 540 629-3427

I had the pleasure of working with Joe on several projects and was deeply impressed by him. His great craftsmanship was only made greater by his friendly demeanor, the passion of his commitment, and the positive energy he always shared with those around him. I'm better for having known Joe and am deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Timpane family, I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Joe. I loved Joe- and so did my family- he was such a large part of our lives especially in the time we spent together in Northern Virginia, Mississippi and Florida.
I loved his sharp mind and assertive can-do style on any project or issue that confronted him. I have great memories and learned a great deal from him. I will miss him dearly. I am so sorry for your loss. The Simpson family

I just wanted you to know, whenever Joe visited us, he always spoke lovingly of his family. We loved him like a brother. He spoke at Randy's funeral, came to our family Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and we last saw him at my parents 60th anniversary party. We will miss his smile and heart. Praying for your family. Love, the Stilleys.

I know how much Joe loved his family & his girlfriend. He was just at my house Sunday afternoon helping me order replacement toilets (he insisted on Toto) & faucets for all of my bathrooms. More importantly though we got the chance to catch up on old times & share Randy stories and even shed a few tears. We wrapped up the day watching the Skins beat Philly. It was a beautiful day out and I wastched as Joe drove off on his Harley. How blessed I was to have that precious time with him. He was more like family to me & Hayden (and all the Stilleys). My prayers are with the entire Timpane family & his Joanie. With love always, Robin Stilley Warter & Hayden Stilley

I loved every hug I have ever gotten from Cousin Joe as we all here in MA knew him. He gave lasting impacting hugs that lay residual with you even after you had departed. Just like him and who he was. His hugs spoke every piece of that. I am so grateful I got one of those hugs at Aunt Gen and Uncle Mikes anniversary celebration, this reminds us that we must take advantage every chance we get to hug each other tell each other we love and respect and cherish each other. He will share a Gin and Tonic with my mom today, he has left us in the physical but I know his great love, charisma, energy, and compassion is still here with us and will remain in all of the lives he touched and in all of us who will honor him by mirroring the same in ours. I can hear his laugh and I know that gregarious spirit is not far from us ever.

This kind man, so alive and vibrant, so kind and considerate, simply radiated a love and joy in life.
My heart aches for his beloved parents and the rest of those who knew him best.
I am sorry I can't be with you for this, distance and my husband's illness keep me away only physically.
He's free, riding into the Eternal Light.

Was shocked to hear of this tragic accident. Can remember well Joe's outgoing, friendly nature. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his parents and loved ones. I personally understand the loss of a child, a loss no parent should have to suffer. I pray the memories of his life and accomplishments will bring the family comfort during this very sad time.

Joe was one of the kindest, thoughtful and caring men I've known in my life. We were introduced over 25 years ago. We worked together and enjoyed hanging out, Going to football and hockey games and I just loved being around joe. I learned a lot from this man and he was lost way to soon. We were talking about going to the beach to go fishing at another friends house in Bethany beach. I was so looking forward to that fishing trip because its been a long time since we have done anything like that for years. I hope he will be with Bill and I during that trip.
Joe, you were a true friend and you will be missed. I'm sorry I burned down the garage you built for me. I hope you are with your family and Randy. Have a safe journey and as we were talking about not to long ago, life is to short and you never know when your number is up. As everyone that has ever been blessed by your presents, we will miss you. Good bye old friend.
