While away on vacation the sad news came to me of Joe's passing. During my ten years of being Mayor of Somerville I had the privilege of meeting and working with many wonderful people. Joe was always one of my favorites. I've always admired Joe for his friendly mannor and his dedication and love for the Somerville community. I will miss Joe and I feel deeply honored to have had him as a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I have the fondest memories of working closely with Joe during the Boynton Yards redevelopment project. He had unique talents and the Somerville community is a better place for his efforts.
