Not sure what to say?

I recorded with Joe in the late 1970s. The record was finalized in 1978 and my Manager, Herb Paloff and the President of K-Tel Presents, along with Joe, for the first time, decided to introduce new artists via a 90-minute commercial. My album was to be the first. We spend two years in between gigs heading to NY to record and when it was finally completed, Mr. Paloff, Joe, and K-Tel Presents couldn't come to an agreement, so the album sat. Although to my knowledge, they never released...

I met Joe Venneri in my recording studio around '66. He sat next to me as producer in that session. I was constantly adjusting the levels and Joe kept looking over at me in an annoyed, curious way. I said, "What"? He said, "Just find the balance between the musicians and let them do the rest"! An early engineering lesson. We went on for many years after that. I mixed many records for him. He said to me once, "Jim, you could make it sound good even if you recorded on toilet paper"! I became a...

I had the pleasure to work with Joe and also be friends with him for several years. Joe had a good heart he always loved to talk about The Tokens and Martial Arts. We enjoyed many trips to Brooklyn to visit his friends. Joe always wanted to pay for everybody and make sure that everybody ate good. My parents and family loved when he would visit. Joe's passion was music that is where he was most happy. Rest in peace my friend.

I was working on so many things with Joe and helping him get some of his things together.I was helping him with some of his tapes and tried to get some of them back to him and then he disappeared? I asked everyone I knew and nobody knew where he was I couldn't get hold of his daughter and his phone numbers I couldn't leave a message anymore. I tried calling his ex-wife and couldn't get a hold of her either. I had no way of getting hold of his son. Now I see that he died this summer. What do I...

I worked with Joe on many projects over the years, and pay tribute to his loyalty, generosity, and talent, not only as a renowned audio engineer, but as a respected music producer, and studio designer and builder. I am fortunate to have known him.
