i got to know Joe as a retail clerk and then as a retail manager here in Portland. He was quite a character and we enjoyed swapping stories of our past sports lives so long ago. He always engaged me in baseball and hockey discussions. He had some great stories about his ball playing days and his firefighting days as well. I always got a kick out of his laugh!
