Not sure what to say?

Dr. Walser saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself. I wanted to major in Christian Education, but Alma didn’t offer that path. Instead of letting that be the end of the story, he helped create an internship with First Presbyterian Church and recommended me for one of the positions. I spent my junior year traveling back and forth to Bay City to work with the church’s Junior High youth—a formative experience that gave me a jump start in ministry.
He also introduced me to the...

Dr. Walser was my advisor my freshman year and I had him for my Freshman Pre-term class, and a few other religion classes. He made a life long lasting impression. Blessings to his family.

Dr Walser was my adviser starting with my freshman year when I started Alma on academic probation until I had to declare a major at the end of my junior year.. He encouraged me and allowed me to take courses that interested me and challenged me. He waived the prerequisites to allow me to take his 300 level religion course as my only religion course.I majored in Chemistry and he would ask if the school offered the courses I was signing up for. He wrote reference letters for my law school...

I just read in the Alma alumni magazine that my favorite Alma "teacher" Dr. Joe left this world in April. I will never forget going to Israel with him or attending his amazing classes. He was such a mentor and friend during my time at Alma. His legacy lives on!

What a wonderful man was Joe Walser. Both my wife and I were students at Alma College when he first joined the faculty in 1965. My wife was a religion major and benefited greatly from his support and mentorship. He was adored by generations of Alma College students! Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to his wife, Cathy, and his family.

I will missed Joe so very much. Me and my deceased husband, John both really enjoyed eating ice cream and listening to Joes rhymes. He was a such a sweet guy and always made us laugh. Thank you so very much for allowing me time to be with Joe. ♥

Dr. Walser taught my First Year Honors Seminar my very first semester at Alma College. We were encouraged to attend all of the cultural events that the college offered, which set me up for attending them during my entire college career. The care he took in his interactions with students inspired me to do the same in my current career as a high school teacher. He truly lived the teachings of Christ in his life.
