I just found out about Joe's passing a few days ago. I remember Joe as a wonderful performer in many plays he acted in while he was a student at Newton South High School. I first worked with Joe in the musical, "Anything Goes " where he played the part called Moonface. In "A Midsummer Night's Dream ", Joe was Oberon, King of the Fairies. He was the Headless man in "Pippin". He acted in "Inherit the Wind", "How to Succeed in Business", "My Fair Lady", and other shows. The last time I worked...

It was a pleasure playing football with joe as a teammate, he was always ready and knew the plays. Joe played as hard as he could and always have 110% with a smile!

I will always remember Joe as a tireless leader for our NSHS class. Always a gentleman, his fine sense of humor always put us in good spirits. We had many good times together in the plays. My condolences to Greg, Ann and the entire family.

Joe was a leader in all respects. I recall him as a tireless worker on the football field. Always ready for practice, Always hustling during drills, Overcoming any shortcomings (cute) with great attitude and smarts. Always knew the play and creatively getting out of blocks to make the tackles.
I recall his address to the senior class as inspirational and short (gotta luv that).
Here's to you Joe!!

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Joe's untimely death. He will always hold a very special place in my memories from U or C and the Cardozo/New York years after. My deepest sympathies to you Ann.

Ann: I'm so sorry for your great loss. My prayers are with you and your families. --Julie Vanden Heuvel Horihan (St. Olaf class of '82)
