Joseph F. Walsh, 96, of Pawtucket, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Mary A. (Conway) Walsh.  


Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (McNulty) Walsh. He was a proud disabled army veteran of the Second World War.


Joe was an Operating Engineer and member of Local 57 for 74 years, finally retiring at age 87. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph F. Walsh III, J. Michael Walsh, Veronica Walsh and husband, Walter Richard and second dad to Susan McNally.  Joe was the beloved Da to Patrick Farrell and wife Nicole, Mary Kay Champagne and husband Eric, and Kerri Walsh. He was great Da to Alexandra, Gianna, Emily, Joseph, Keara, Kylie and Naiomi.  Joe was the brother to Mary Fournier, Gertrude McGinnis, and the late Edward Walsh and treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 16th at 11 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. The burial to follow will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Cumberland.


Relatives and friends are kindly invited to pay their respects and honor Joseph Wednesday September 15, 2021, from 4PM to 8PM at the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI 02864.


Social distancing and face masks are required.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Walsh. He was always great to us kids that lived on Greeley Street. Your family always had fun on July 3rd and allowed us to be part of it all!!!! Mr. Walsh led a long and happy life. May you take comfort in knowing that. My prayers to the whole family.
