Not sure what to say?

I remember going to a Gator Bowl game with my Daddy, and Jody is a part of the memory. My aunt worked for Joe for many years. I loved seeing him enter the church in later years, so proud!

God Bless,

Paul B. Mahoney

Joe Welker was a wonderful man, working hard for peace and understanding between different cultures.I was lucky enough to work in his program Christmas International House. I am still friends with many of these students. I appreciate the stories he shared. One of my greatest treasures was a plant he gave me one year for Christmas.
Thank you Joe Welker for a life well lived.
I am sorry for the family's loss in his leaving, but he had led a great life.

John, Marty and Jody,
I regret not being with you for your father's service but want you to know that you have been in my thoughts. Joe was always a very special man to me. Thinking of him brings back a flood of fond childhood memories of all of you, your mother and mine.

How happily I remember Uncle Joe when the war was over and he came to visit us.
He was in his twentys then and was a liasson between my older parents and my sister and me. He brought sea shells from various islands and was my mentor in discovering the natural world. It led to my becoming a marine biologist. It was always a thrill when Uncle Joe came to visit: lots of stories, and an opportunity for him to fill us in on my mother’s (his sister’s) side of the family. In fact, he was...

The world has lost one of its true saints in Joe Welker. My prayers go out to the family.

Thinking of Mr. Welker always put a smile on my face. How he loved his children and grandchildren. Loved talking to him about PENN STATE!
He was a outstanding man and I am honored to have known him.

All of us who had the honor of meeting this wonderful man have lost a Great friend. Joe had a way of making you a part of his Nursery World. His stories of the early days of our industry were so informative and entertaining. My sincere condolences to all in the Welker family.

Joe was a very special man with such a strong and inspiring faith. What a great photo you've chosen of him, especially for those of us who only knew him when he was older! He will be missed by many, but for his family the void will be greater and so much more personal. May you take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with all the saints who have gone on before him, in the company of our Lord.

Our love to Marty and all the Welker family. We share wonderful memories of your dad going back at least 50 of his 93 years. From kindergarten and girl scout camp outs through years of activities at RPC. Such a wonderful soul!
