Mr. Joseph Douglas Westmoreland, 69 of Charlotte, passed away on November 24, 2016 at CMC-Main. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Burial will follow at York Memorial.

To the Westmoreland Family my condolences.Doug and I have known each other for years. Sports were our companion. Had not seen him that much since his retirement. But when we did it was like old times. Remember Westmoreland Family "Joy comes in the morning." May God bless you all.....

you definitely a one-of-a-kind. just a good person overall.A good hearted man. Cool and with such a kindness about your spirit. I haven't seen you in a really long time but I always was so happy to see you each time I did at the HOP. with that winning smile of yours. I am so sorry that I did not get to pay my respects but I did not find out until later otherwise I would have been there. may you rest in peace and I'm sure your dad is up there smiling and glad to have you there...

I have just learned with sorrow of the death of Doug. I wish to express my deepest sympathy and the hope that the kind thoughts of your many friends will make your grief a little easier to bear. My memories of Doug only involve playing against each other in various football, basketball and baseball competitions throughout Charlotte.
