I just want to let you know how saddened I am by the loss of Joe. Although I never met him, just knowing that one of our heroes has fallen causes me to feel the loss also. We are grateful for men like him and all that he sacrificed for us in the service of his country. This must be such a difficult time for you, and I pray you will receive the peace and Grace that you need to see you through it.

Joe, I can't believe a year has passed. People say as time passes it gets easier to cope, but so far thats not true for me. I don't think it ever will be. There is no way on earth I will ever get use to the idea that you are not here with us anymore. I miss you so much, everyday. My heart breaks everyday when I wake up and realize that you are not here. There is a constant ache inside that never subsides, never goes away. It never will. We just got back from your Memorial in NC and it...

So a year has passed. Funny how time can go by so fast and feel so slow. We want you to know that Joseph is not forgotten, that his sacrifice for all of us is noted in the book of heros and the book of Life. Three months ago we lost our only son also. So now we join together as families do, who have lost a light from their midst. We pray for your family and for ours, and for all who went before us. God bless you and keep you. There are no tears in Heaven.
