Not sure what to say?

I just found out about Joe's death. Joe was a wonderful man. He took a chance at hiring me when I was in college trying to get my Electrical Engineering degree. Joe allowed me to work way above my pay grade, assigning me engineering responsibilities when I was just a technician. Joe was a "jack of all trades" engineer, and I followed in his footsteps, although I could never know as much about so many things as he. I have thought of him often since leaving Bell in 1999. Uncle Joe at a Williamson-Brown-Mossman family reunion

Joe Williamson at son John's wedding

My memories of my Uncle Joe are many and fond. While my Aunt Char was the more social, Uncle Joe was always open and willing to be engaged on any subject imaginable, especially if it related to technology. During all family gatherings, Joe almost always had his camera at the ready. He was one of my favorite...

Joe was a dear sweet man and a wonderful neighbor. I know he missed Char and is with her again. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

For those of you who don't know a lot about Bell, my statement above says a lot, because Bell had so many gifted engineers. But he was far more than a gifted engineer. He was such a caring person and one of my best friends at Bell. I think that many others who worked...

So many memories flood my heart and mind of the iconic, brilliant, thoughtful, caring man that Uncle Joe has been for me all my life. Between his mastery of boats, planes, and automobiles ... at this moment what suddenly comes to mind is the amazing, graceful sine wave he carved side covering 80 to 100 feet side to side flying along at 40 to 50 mph slicing through the water, kicking it up on the outsides in big spray, slaloming seemingly effortlessly balanced and tipping to the inside of...
