My condolences to Mr. Wittmann's family and friends. As with many, I never met him, but his invention and product, the Z-Ray, has brought much enjoyment to my life and my family. I took my first cast with a Z-Ray back in about 1976 and it has been my go-to trout lure ever since. I am very sorry and saddened for the family's loss. I first learned of the Wittman Lure Co. while watching an old gentleman in Texas (Fred Parks) pulling in one rainbow trout after another at a municipal pond in winter.
