Not sure what to say?

I was very blessed to have Ms. Burnett as my second grade teacher. I always find myself thinking back to this grade and realizing how she was a woman who sparked my creative and artistic abilities as a kid. She was so proactive about cool projects and reading us good books. Definitely one of the most inspiring women of my childhood/life. Such a sweet heart.

I consider myself blessed to have had Ms Burnett as my 1st grade teacher back in 1977. Of all the teachers and instructors I've had in the past, none impacted me to carry their memory this far in my life. I have always held Ms. Burnett in high regard for her incredible patience and unfaltering preserverance to make sure all of her students where standing side by side intellectualy. None were left behind to catch up on their own. A fond memory I have of her was when she had the whole 1st grade...

My condolence to her family! She was an amazing teacher and was my 1st grade teacher! She really loved all her students and was very artistic. I remember she would always decorate the cafeteria with her paintings.

I am so glad I got to spend time with Jo. I was fortunate to do my student teaching with her and spent many years working with her in community theater and dance recitals....she was a good friend and a fantastic teacher! Thank you Jo for those wonderful years!

Jo was a great person. She was my neighbor and friend in the '70's at an apartment complex in Brownsville. She shared very interesting stories of her life and travel and we took an art class together. I wish now we had stayed in touch.

She was a wonderful teacher when I was at Garden Park as a student. She was so full of life. My condolences go out to the family. She was a wonderful woman.

Dear Burnett Family. I am so very sorry for Jo's tragic death, much too soon. She was a wonderful, talented, and beautiful woman, artist, teacher, and friend to all. May you rest in peace, Jo.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Jo and I served in the Peace Corps in Somalia together. We kept up a casual corrospondence over the years, faithfully exchanging Christmas greetings and incidental letters filled with the events of our different lives. I always enjoyed her narratives about her theatre excursions.I will miss her. And I am deeply grateful to learn that she had good close friends in her life in these years.
I remember a Somali road trip taken during a holiday school break...

Dearest Burnette Family, I am truly sorry for the loss of your beloved Jo. May your fond memories and many prayers strenghen and comfort you at this time.
