BEACON FALLS: Josephine V. (Russo) Fitzpatrick, 93, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2015, at Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Fitzpatrick.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born in Ansonia on October 14, 1921, daughter of the late Louis and Molly Sapiente Russo. She was employed as a press operator at the Homer D. Bronson Co. for 28 years until her retirement. Josephine was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Beacon Falls and a member of the Beacon Falls Senior Center. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 24 in Derby.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Barbara Maccarella and her husband Alan of Woodbury, a loving son, Dennis Fitzpatrick and his wife Jennifer of Derby, grandchildren, Gregory Fitzpatrick and Nicholas Fitzpatrick and his wife Krystal, great-grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, Tyler and Alyssa, sisters, Caroline Criscuolo of Seymour, Antoinette Shpak and Nancy Russo both of Ansonia, sister in law, Emma Johnson of Monroe and several very special nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Josephine was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Russo, a sister, Rose Hennessey and her grandson, Matthew Fitzpatrick.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 1, 2015, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Due to the storm on Monday, her funeral has been rescheduled for TUESDAY at 9:00 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Michael Church in Beacon Falls. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beacon Hose Co. #1 through the funeral home.
