Josephine Dorothea Blasco Jennings, 84, entered into eternal life June 25, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was the second of 6 children and a twin to Phyllis Blasco Dominyak. Wife of Vincent Charles Jennings (deceased). Mother of 9 children: daughters, Mary Joanne Cardenas (Henry deceased), Connie Emminger (John), Dorothy Gieseke (Don), Patty Kratz (Dave), Rosie Mandelenis (Manoli); sons, Jim Jennings (Tina), James, Nicholas, and Gregory (deceased); 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Josephine was born November 21, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there for 42 years. She moved with her family to Chandler, AZ in 1965 and retired with her husband in Yarnell, AZ in 1979. After the death of her husband Vincent in 2002 she came to live with her daughter in Tempe. She was an active volunteer at St. Mary Basha Elementary School, Seton High School, St. Mary's Church in Chandler, and St. Mary's Church in Yarnell, She was also active in Yarnell Homemakers, Wranglerettes, the Yarnell Senior Center, and a volunteer with SVDP Society at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Donations in her name will be accepted at Hospice of the Valley and Foundation for Senior Living. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday June 29, 2008 4:00-8:00 PM, Rosary 7:00 PM at Carr Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ 85282. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 30, 2008 12:00 PM Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 2121 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Mesa, AZ. Rosie and Family, I was so sorry to read about the passing of your mother in the Catholic Sun. Her name was listed under the Queen of Heaven Cemetery. She was always so good to me when I was a young girl....I loved having dinner at your home, especially the spaghetti, with a very large glass of milk.
