QUEENSBURY --- Josephine "Jo" V. Coletti, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 31, 2015 with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Jo was born on October 30, 1923 in Corona, NY to Gaetano and Maria (Leone) Farina. At a young age Jo moved with her family to Catskill, NY. She graduated Catskill H.S. in 1940 then went on to earn her RN from the Benedictine School of Nursing. Jo earned an advanced degree in operating room nursing from Johns Hopkins where she graduated as valedictorian. She was employed as a registered nurse instructor specializing in operating room and recovery room nursing at Flushing Hospital and Medical Center in Flushing, NY until her retirement in 1984.
Jo moved to Queensbury in 1987 where she became involved in many local organizations. She served as a lector at Our Lady of the Annunciation, as president of Queensbury Senior Citizens, Inc., as president of AARP chapter 3891, and as president of the Warren County Council of Senior Citizens. Jo was selected as the Warren County Senior of the Year, the Queensbury Senior of the Year, the Warren County Contributing Senior of the Year, and received numerous Citations on both the Local and State level. Through her involvement in these organizations Jo made many good friends.
Jo is survived by: her daughter Jeannie Rano and husband Tony Rano of Queensbury, NY; her daughters-in-law Patty Coletti of Palenville, NY and Lois Coletti of Las Vegas, NV; her sister Elva Orlandini and brother-in-law Ernie Orlandini of Levittown, NY; her grandchildren David & Cindy Coletti of Palenville, NY, Brian & Janette Coletti of Cairo, NY, Dana & Bob Bailey of Wareham, MA, Cindy & John Manning of Coeymans, NY, Roland & Jessica Coletti of Palenville, NY, and her granddog Noelle Rano; her great grandchildren Timothy Coletti and his fiancé Meabh Lavery, Erica Coletti, Chris Coletti, Maggie Bailey, Ben Bailey, Lauren Coletti, Isaiah Coletti, and Noah Coletti; as well as many nieces and nephews. Family was the most important thing in Jo's life and she was loved dearly and will be missed greatly.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Our Lady of the Annunciation, 448 Aviation Road, Queensbury, NY, 12804.
