Jones-Pearson Funeral Home Obituary

Josephine Larson passed away peacefully on May 7, 2016 at the age of 92, at Care-Age Country Home in Park Rapids, MN.

Josephine was born on February 21, 1924 in Dennis Port, Massachusetts to William and Mary (McLean) Linnell. She had two siblings, John and Marie Linnell. Josephine married Ellsworth Lloyd Larson on October 10, 1947 in Hyannis, Mass. They had two children, Linda and Robert. They lived in Dawson, MN in the 1950’s and moved to Canby, MN in 1961. They spent the rest of their years in Park Rapids, MN, moving there in 1975. Josephine enjoyed spending time with her husband and children. They enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, camping, watching wildlife and fishing. They wintered yearly in Florida, preferring to avoid the Minnesota winters. Her husband Lloyd passed away in 2010. She later lost her children Robert, in 2014, and her daughter Linda, in 2015. She was blessed with two grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She had a very kind heart, enjoyed visiting with others and had a beautiful smile. Josephine received loving care at Care-Age Country Home prior to her passing.

Josephine will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Shawn (Leann) Larson of Minneapolis, MN and Tracie (Chad) Swearingen of Coon Rapids, MN; and her six great-grandchildren: Makenna, Kaden, Laynie and Emma Larson and Kailyn and Braeden Swearingen.

Funeral services will be held at Providence Valley Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN on May 21st at 10:30am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.

Not sure what to say?

I want to pass along my sympathies to Aunt Jo's family. I am so sorry. I have memories of Aunt Jo visiting with my family (my mom was LaVae Larson) in New Jersey when I was little-her and Lloyd and their big poodle. It's so difficult to lose someone you love. I pray that God will draw you close and bring you peace and comfort in this difficult time. Love from NJ.
Sandy

My sympathies to the entire family. Jo was such a nice lady. I'm sure she will be missed.

My name is Laurie Becker. I co-own P.R.Taxi in Park Rapids,I feel very blessed to have got to known Josephine when I would take her to different appointments. The last time I saw her was when I took to the ER in Park Rapids. I made sure that when she was released that I was the one to take her back to the Care-Age home. When she saw that it was me picking her up she got the biggest smile on her face and told me she was glad it was me picking her up. My last memory of her was when I took her...
