Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home - Montrose Obituary

Josephine L. Onyon, 89, of New Milford, PA, entered into the hands of her Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was born on April 16, 1934, in Bridgewater Twp., PA to the late Horace and S. Louise (Bushnell) Williams. Her husband, Charles Onyon, predeceased her in 1961.

She is survived by her five children, Mike and Debbie Onyon, Goshen, IN, John Onyon, New Milford, PA, Jim and Nancy Onyon, Catoosa, OK, Charlotte Conklin, New Milford, PA, Kelly and Jack Greene, Carbondale, PA; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was also predeceased by daughter-in-law Marilyn Onyon, daughter-in-law Bonny Onyon, and son-in-law Mark Conklin.

Her life on the farm as a young girl led her to a lifelong love of gardening, a love she handed down to her children. She also worked diligently for many years to care for her family as a single mom.

She was a woman of faith whose strong devotion to her Lord led her to serve not only in her home, community, and local church but on the mission field in Alaska as well. She was a teacher, traveler, and public speaker.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at South New Milford Baptist Church with Pastor Ray Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in the East Bridgewater Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.

In Josephines’s memory, donations can be made to: Child Evangelism Fellowship, 5 Chestnut St., Montrose, PA 18801.

Dear John, Mike, Kelly Jo,Charlotte & Jim & f amilies
I'm so very sorry, your mom was such a sweet lady and always worked hard. She had a smile for everyone. What a legacy she has left each of you & your children. She wore many hats and fulfilled each one with hard work and responsibility, respect and patience.
I pray that the fond happy memories will soon help you keep her memories strong..
