Not sure what to say?

Joey was one of my American third cousins; our grandfathers, both MacGregors,
from Scotland , we’re first cousins. Uncle Sandy, Joey’s grandfather, emigrated to Portland when he was a very young man.

I lived with Joey in Portland for about 9 months. Great memories of a happy time, especially the Christmas period, with with the many members of the American MacGregor family.

Subsequently, many years later, Joey, her 3 daughters & son stayed with my husband & me, &...

I met Joey when we served on the Board of Hoyt Arboretum Friends in its early years. Her warmth, energy, and dedication inspired me then and continues to do so. I feel fortunate to be among the many people her life and work have touched. We will all miss her.

We made it through the pandemic together and shared some interesting experiences. It is a comfort to imagine you and your late husband together again. I miss you. Fondly, Linda.

Joey was a very special woman. She loved her grandchildren and they loved her. I feel so honored to have been blessed to have gotten to know Joey. I loved here wit and intellect. She truly will always be remembered for truly being a servant leader! Warmly. Paula Kinney

I had the pleasure and honor of knowing Joey when I worked at Portland Parks Foundation. I always said I wanted to grow up to be just like her. At 81, I still aspire to that lofty goal. I´ll never forget her beautiful soul. We are so lucky to have had her among us.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I worked at the Racquet Club we're she was a member. My thoughts are with all her kids and Grandkids. I still have all the books she gave me on gardening and the Trees for my Grandkids. RIP Mrs. POPE

I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew Josephine toward the end of her life, as I would help facilitate visits between her and her son Peter. We often had wonderful conversations about gardening, or she would tell stories from her childhood in Portland. She was always incredibly kind to me.
