Josephine "Jessie" Vaccaro Rogers, entered into God's care Tuesday. Born in Chickasaw, Pa., she came to Trenton when she was two years old and had resided in the area since then. Mrs. Rogers was an administrative secretary for the State of New Jersey Department of Education for 39 years before...

Not sure what to say?

Josie was a wonderful person. We shared something very special, our birthday! Josie was delighted to be able to give my grandfather the news of my arrival on March 18,(50 years ago) just after my grandfather wished her a "Happy Birthday". She had sent my grandfather a note during a speech in Atlantic City, NJ that he had just become a grandfather for the very first time. Josie always had a special place in the hearts of our family, and my grandfather said he never worked with a more...

Aunt Jessie held a special place in our hearts. We have pleasant memories of family visits and fishing trips to SC, of "hosting" our dog, Lady, when we moved to Trenton in 1971 and couldn't have a dog in the apartment, of long visits on the back enclosed porch (occasionally broken by one of our sons!), of her joy at hosting any of us, her "extended SC family" when we came up to visit. We give thanks for those good memories of good times that soften the more recent memories. She valued her...

Aunt Josie was my father's "younger sister". They had worked together for the State. After my father retired and moved to Ohio in 1984, they kept in touch. We so enjoyed her visit when she came to Cleveland many years ago. My father and Aunt Josie called each other on a regular basis. I was happy to continue when my father was not able to. Aunt Josie was so full of love. She especially loved my oldest daughter who is developmentally delayed. We will miss you, Aunt Josie.

It was such a pleasure working with Josie at the Department of Education back in the 70s; I've learned so much under her direction as she was lead secretary within the Division of Vocational Education. Josie's no nonsense, yet gentle spirit, will always remain in my heart.

What I have to say about my "Aunt" Jessie requires a lot more space than I have here, but suffice it to say that she was a treasure! She was always a true and loving friend to my parents who probably would not have ended up married if it were not for her, so for that I owe her a real debt! We always had fun together and I will miss her, as will my husband who she often called upon for little favors. Rest now.

I didn't know Jospehine that long but what i did know is that she had a love of children. No matter what the holiday or event at Covenant, Jospehine would be bringing little gifts or supporting the children's events by her presence.
She loved to cook and give good hugs. She will be missed by her family at Covenant presbyterian Church.

Dear Jessie,
You were gone before I knew it with no chance to say goodbye but always remember
the good times we shared.
I will miss you dear cousin. Take comfort with the Lord. You will be sadly missed. Until I see you again. Love,
Cousin Tony Pagano

Though I'm a bit sad with her passing, I know Jessie's with the Lord, and that part comforts me. I will never forget her last smile that I witnessed two Sundays ago when I pulled out my errand list and read out loud that I had to go buy two toilet seats. After I said that, for some reason, that struck her funny (and me, too for that matter - because I wasn't joking at that moment). Everyone has fun things to do - but there are always mundane things on the list - like mine. But our "to do...

Josie, as we knew her at the DOE, was one in a million. I know that you are "home" now and want to thank you for all the years of friendship, guidance and the impact you had on us as young ladies learning the ropes at the DOE. You will be sadly missed!
