O'Brien Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services - South Hadley Obituary

Joshua R. Aldrich was born on June 11th 1984 to Penelope S. Aldrich, and later raised by his grandparents Raymond & Mildred Aldrich Sr. of Granby, MA both now deceased. Josh was a passenger, and was involved in a severe auto accident one week before his 18th birthday. He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, and was unable to live out the remainder of his life as a normal young man. Wheelchair bound, and unable to speak, he managed to make the best out of life he could. He was very happy living in a group home, with housemates that shared similar disabilities, and a professional 24/7 staff that grew to understand, and care for his needs. With staff he would enjoy outings, and shopping trips, and bring joy to his heart. Josh also enjoyed coming home for visits with his family, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins (brothers). We all enjoyed sharing time, watching him smile, and helping him feel like family again. Josh was taken from us on May 1st after complications developed. He will be missed by his family here at home, and by his friends, and staff at the group home. Services handled by O’Brien Family Funeral Home of South Hadley, MA. Donations accepted by Berkshire County Arc 395 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201. For more information or to make online condolences please go to obrienfamilyfh.com.
