Becker Funeral Home, Inc. - Clermont Obituary

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Joshua Lucas Dowhower, loving husband and father of three, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40.

Josh was born on January 2, 1981, in Hershey, PA to Steve and Vickie (Friedel) Dowhower. He worked for Farco Plastics, alongside his wife, as a warehouse supervisor.  On April 10, 2010, Josh married the love of his life, Samantha James Quesenberry.  They have three sons, Lucas, Eli, and Case.

Josh’s world revolved around his family and he enjoyed spending time with his wife and sons; playing video games, swimming in the pool, and just being with them. Josh and Sam also enjoyed traveling together and went to Mexico several times. Josh loved all things Harley Davidson and made it a point to tour as many Harley facilities as possible.  He was an avid New York sports fan and lined his man cave with New York sports memorabilia. Josh was known for being the life of every party, never knowing a stranger, going out of his way to make those around him laugh and to his friends and family, he will be remembered as a loving family man with an infectious laugh and smile.

Josh is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Merle Dowhower, his maternal grandfather Charles Friedel, several aunts and uncles, and father-in-law, James Quesenberry. In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by his wife Samantha, his three sons, Lucas, Eli, and Case, his maternal grandmother, Ella Friedel, his brothers Jesse (girlfriend Angie Otto) Dowhower, and Todd (spouse Chris) Dowhower, his nieces Emily, Madyson, Kassi and Mariellen, his nephews Todd, Kaihl, James and David, his best friends who were like brothers, Tito Vazquez, Bryan Smith, and James Champ, several cousins, a large extended family and too many friends to name.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with an announcement being placed on Samantha’s Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions may be sent to gofundme.com/joshandsamanthadowhower, and please visit beckerfamilyfuneral.com to view a memorial video.

I only knew young Josh but I’ll always remember how he could make us laugh, even if we weren’t ready to laugh. He was a good guy. God Speed Josh

Steve, Very sorry to hear about your son. May he RIP.

I hope that our Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time.

So sorry too hear of loss of Josh. Just when you were ready to be coming back up home. He will be remembered playing with Jared as a young boy. May he RIP.

I only knew Josh from working with him. I was a truck driver that came into his place on Derry street to pick up every day for Pyle company. He was always friendly to me always had a laugh with him. My sincere condolences to his family.
