Marshfield – Joshua C. Hansom, 28, died in a tragic vehicle accident Friday, March 12, 2004. He was the beloved son of Donald and Debra (Maker) Hanscom and the only brother to Joseph and was loved deeply by them all. He was born July 31, 1975 at Ellsworth.
He was a graduate of Machias Memorial High School, class of 1993. He attended Brewster Academy in Wolfboro, N.H. and Babson College in Boston. He worked at this dad’s construction company, helped with his grandfather’s blueberry and wreathing business and was currently employed with Microdyne in Orono. Joshua enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and beating everybody at jeopardy.
He is survived by his parents and his brother, his maternal grandfather, Ralph D. Maker of Cutler; his Nana Patricia and her husband, Dave Maker of East Machias and Grammie and Pa, Flora and Herb Hanscom of Marshfield. He will also be sadly missed by many very special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be especially missed by Kurt and Billy Guptill, Jesse Reid, Justin Look, and special cousin, Jason Maker Trickett and his special love, Tara Ingatis.
A memorial service will be held on 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Machias Valley Baptist Church with Pastor George Henderson officiating.

Although we did not know Joshua, we can so understand losing a son - at any age - and to lose one unexpectedly and with no reason, it just hurts more. Our thoughts and sympathy go out to you.
