Funeral services for Joshua Scott Sims, 33, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood with Bro. Glen Goodson officiating. Interment will follow at Small Cemetery north of Edgewood under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. He passed away suddenly Saturday morning, December 29, 2012, in Jacksonville. Joshua was born August 20, 1979, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Gary Lynn Sims and Judith Ann Grissom Sims. He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1998. Josh had been employed by Wilco Equipment in Wills Point for two years and was currently employed by South Tawakoni Water Supply in Wills Point for the past thirteen years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his 4-wheeler. Josh loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his children and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Neuman & Nellie Sims. Josh is survived by his parents, Gary & Judy Sims, of Edgewood; son, Nate Sims, of Edgewood; two daughters, Allie Sims, of Edgewood and Sadie Sims, of Edgewood; sister, Regina Cox & husband, Jim, of Edgewood; niece, Kylie Cox, of Edgewood and a nephew, Clayton Cox, of Edgewood. Pallbearers: Josh Jones, Brian Burns, Bryce Valentine, Matt Stevens, Chris Howell and Robbie Cates. Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Humphries, Richard Phillips, Gary Bass and Darin Bass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Josh Sims Children's Education Fund at First State Bank of Ben Wheeler located at the Edgewood Branch. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
