Without JK's knowledge and guidance it's inconceivable I would have become a music student, now teacher of music. His spirit lives inside me. Distance and time could not erode our loving bonds.

We loved him so much!

The rarest of rare men. He will always be thought of, always missed, and forever loved.

C. British Invasion, witty JK named our rock band The Pound Notes. Pound we did. JK was the centrifugal force for friendships, fun and never a dull moment. Thank you JK for sharing some of your time with me. My sympathies to the Adams family on the loss of your beloved Josiah Knowles.

I am fortunate to have known Mr. Adams for many years as a fellow teacher at Elan. He inspired and enriched our lives because of his dedication and commitment to teaching. He will be missed. Almira Willson, Falmouth, Maine.

I considered Josiah a close friend during the Marlboro years. Whenever we met, there was some kind of spark. There was never small talk; even the most mundane topic could evolve into something intellectually challenging. I feel the loss, although it has been many years and send my sincerest condolences.

Although it has been many years since I was in touch with Josiah, it is hard for me to imagine his energy has been stilled. I first met him when we were students at Marlboro College. We began a friendship which extended after leaving Marlboro. I have colorful memories of summers when J.K. (Josiah) lived at Cael's junkyard and in a treehouse on Hanson Rd. in Halifax.
