Josue A. Massas, 10, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Josue had been battling cancer since he was 4 years old.
He was born January 19, 2007 in Lorain. Josue was a third grader at Steven Dohanos Elementary School in Lorain. He loved baseball, Spider Man, Bat Man, Play Station video games and his favorite color was red.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Luis and Glissette Masses; brothers, Luis Massas and Nazarey Soto; sisters, Shilyne Massas and Zehalo Soto; grandparents, Manuel and Esmerlda Massas and Sue Caldorna and a special cousin, Isabelle Velez all of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Antonio Soto.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Friends may all call Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until time Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father, William A. Thaden, Pastor will be celebrant. His burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township. Josue had a wish that no one wear black to his funeral.

This is one of Josue's uncle, and I would like to thank everyone for the support, thoughts and prayers to my family and Josue. I will always miss my little nephew and I can't wait until the day I see him again. To the Massas Family. I had the pleasure of working with Josue for two years.
He was very quiet and shy and I last seen him rehearsing for the Christmas program. Gone to soon from us but he no longer is in pain. You now have an angel watching over you. To his sister Shailyne. We will be with you through all this. Your Stevan Dohanos Family.
