Not sure what to say?

Joy was one of my classmates in her PhD program at Virginia Commonwealth University. I remember how intelligent she was and such a sweet and caring person. It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years and she is truly missed. One that was gone too soon. My prayers are with her family and friends.

Dearest Sue and Jim,

In, once again, trying to find you, having lost that note with all of your information from our wonderful visit, we just learned of your tremendous loss last April. Lynn happened to Google Joy's name and found, to our devastation, Joy's Obituary!

We are sickened that we let you down as caring friends, that we were not there for you!! We are sooooo sorry and soooo sad for you!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Our 50th Anniversary 11.30.13

I was a student of Dr. Bruce's between 2005 and 2008. She had a true gift for teaching that not all in that line of work are given. I was always so thankful to have her as teacher, but always felt guilty about having taken her away from the patients at the Shepherd Center, knowing what an asset she was to them. She was such a light in this dark world in so many ways (loving, kind, compassionate, friendly, smart) and will be dearly, dearly missed.

Joy was a skilled and compassionate, physical therapist, who helped me recover physically and spiritually at Shepherd back in 2010. My deepest condolences. So sorry to hear about the passing of such a wonderful person.

My sincerest condolences for such a beautiful person gone too soon. God bless all her love ones in your time of sorrow. Joy will always be in my heart and it was a pleasure to be her classmate. I know the pain is gone and she is with the angles above!

There is no pain more far-reaching and deeper than losing a child. Our deepest condolences.
