Not sure what to say?

I have only recently met Mrs. Whitley. She was a sweet woman. She was always so sociable and friendly. I met her at the Savannah Squares and enjoyed seeing her along with speaking with her. I was shocked and sad to hear that she had passed. She will be missed. Im sorry for her families loss.

Dear Mr. Whitley, Birdie, Ben, and family,

Mrs. Whitley was one of the kindest, dearest, sweetest, and most delightful ladies I have ever known, and I loved her dearly. Laughter seemed to flow from her like a fountain, almost as generously as her kindness. Of the many times I have thought so fondly of her over the years, she has never once failed to lift my heart in laughter and delight. Only the tears of sorrow that come with her passing can occlude a heart that's broken from...

May your family find comfort during this trying time through our Lord. I am Ann Stafford's sister. When she and Ann worked together at Memorial Hospital years ago, she bacame part of our family. Everybody loved Joy - that was a perfect name for her because she always acted so happy and even happier about her family. My prayers will be with your family.

Ben, Birdie, and family,
Very sorry to hear about your mother. I know you loved her so much.
You guys have always been some of the nicest people I know.I'm
sure that has a lot to do with your mother. Our prayers are with you.

My children grew up visiting "grandma joy" everytime we were in savannah. We were always welcomed into her home and treated as part of the family. There were toys for our children, food for all and most of all love to be shared. When my father passed she was the first person to arrive insisting on cooking the frozen ham that we had no idea how to prepare! Always the hard working , hard caring Joy! Much prayers and thoughts to all of you . Love Steve, Jane , Georgia Ann and Scooter Downey

I had the pleasure of knowing Joy and working with her at Memorial Medical Center many years ago. I know she will be truly missed by the family she loved so much and the friends whose lives she touched. She was a beautiful person. Jo Bradshaw (Savannah, Ga.)

My children called her "Grandma Joy" and we're always happy to see her. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor. We will dearly miss her.

I love you, Grandma.

Miss Joy, or "Grandma," as my children called her, was like a second mom to me. We shared many hours talking about the world, trying to predict everything from the weather to the presidency. I can picture her—coffee cup in hand—advising the angels of their celestial duties! Although I know I"ll see her again one day, more than anything, I'll miss her sweet friendship and her adoring phone messages: "George, call me." Much love to the family.
