Joyce Baker

Joyce was my cousin, my grandfather and her father were brothers. She always had a smile on her face, and had plenty to say; she wasn't afraid to face ANYTHING, a force to be reckoned with, a living inspiration...she always laughed when I told her that. I can assure you, her independent nature was totally innate, and thankfully, her parents always encouraged and supported that, even at a time when that was not the norm, nor was it always accepted. Joyce was a strong,intelligent and accomplished woman way before it was admirable for women to have those qualities. A true loss to her friends, family and really..to the world. My condolences to all that loved Joyce.

Enjoyed working with Joyce at UCP in the 70's. She was a remarkable woman!

Joyce was indeed a glorious light that illuminated everyone's life. I cherish my 30 year friendship with her and know she is still advising us to "keep at it."
