Funeral for Joyce Putman Barbee, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hugh Bohlin officiating. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barbee died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 17, 1930, in Athens to Edward Putman and Lacy Powers Putman.
She is survived by four sons, Reginald Howard Barbee, Michael Ray Barbee and Timothy Lee Barbee, all of Decatur, and David Jeffrey Barbee of Michia, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 5111, Decatur, AL 35601, or Hospice of the Valley.
