Joyce Barton was part of the early history of SIU-School of Medicine. She was intimately involved in running the year 2 pharmacology curriculum. She somehow mastered most of the pharmacology content in that curriculum and was a great supporter of students and faculty. She was also an excellent proof-reader, a gift appreciated by the less accurate writers in the department.
