Not sure what to say?

Joyce. I love you very much. I miss you very much. You were my friend. When I created the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS you were the first person to see the value in an agency that is now over 35 years old and has served lives and brought much needed resources to a community in crisis. This would not have been done without you and your guidance. I love you so much for all you have done fir my community and for being my true friend. I smiled today remembering all of the diets we...

Joyce was my high school classmate in Stoneham, Massachusetts. I knew her to be a person who was intelligent, articulate, and talented, far beyond the ordinary. I can see that she was a force to be reckoned with in her work for important causes, and a such a good friend to many. My sincere condolences to those who loved her best and will miss her so much.

She was a friend and mentor. Without Joyce the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, a policy group now 31 years old that brought millions to communities of color, would have never been created. She was a blessing to the AIDS community and the millions of Black children, woman and gay men she helped. We will deeply miss Joyce. Debra Fraser-Howze, Founder, National Black Leardership Commission on AIDS.

To the family and friends of Joyce Bove, you have my deepest sympathy. May it be comforting to you that Joyce was a great person and accomplished a great deal to the benefit of her family, friends and others. EW NYC

Joyce was one of the most generous people on the planet. We've had the privilege of knowing her for almost 40 years and the good fortune to share time with her parents and other members of the family. Joyce's family far exceeded blood relations. Her caring and respect was all encompassing, from her doormen to her beloved cats. She was a force, and that can't be extinguished. She may well be belting out a tune from Evita at this very moment...don't cry for me Argentina.

We were so sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. She was a kind and caring friend to us, and she contributed so much to make the world a better place. She and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was a hall mate of Joyce's in college. She was the most "together" person, to use a word from that era, that I ever knew. Because she was so self-assured, and had such great social skills (besides being a ravishing beauty and a straight-A student), she had little personal drama and instead used her energies to support others. Another woman on our hall was the victim of a cruel practical, emotional joke by other students she thought she could trust. As AW sat crying in her room, hurt and...

Our sincere condolences to the Bove family, friends and many colleagues. Ms Joyce seems to have been a person with great feeling for those in need and clearly will be missed. May you find comfort in many warm memories, and the reflections of good times shared together. We pray for the comfort God can give you now, and the day when Ms Joyce may hear the words of the greatest man who ever lived - "Maiden, I say to you, Get up! Mark 5:42
