Joyce M. Broughton Joyce M. Broughton, 76, of Charlottesville, died on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1937, in Alconbury, England, to the late John and Gladys Cooper. On May 15, 1958, she married Claude A. Broughton of Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a teacher's aide at Hollymead Elementary school for many years and enjoyed writing children's poems. Joyce is survived by her husband, Claude; two sons, Stuart Broughton of Harrisonburg, and David Everett and his wife, Janet; and grandson, Lawrence Everett, all of England. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the guestbook at teaguefuneralhome.com.
