Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, NH - Joyce (Palmer) George died suddenly and unexpectedly in her own home on December 17, 2021 in Springfield NH at the age of 74.

Born to Leon Palmer and Goldie May (Maxfield) in Concord on October 8, 1947 and raised in surrounding towns, Joyce met Denny while she was working at Jordan Milton and they set off on an amazing adventure together.

Joyce lived her life out loud and was fiercely loyal to and protective of her family. She was married for 52 years (and counting!) to Dennis George and together they raised four children, Alan, Fay, Denise (Mason) and Amy.

She traveled the world with wonder and abandon, often with her kids and Denny, and she adopted family and friends at every turn, including many good friends in New Orleans and family in Mexico.

She loved visiting with her sister, Norma Michaud (and husband Bob).

She loved photographing the world around her, and oh, how she loved to dance!

Her grandchildren, Kameron, Samuel, Nicholas, Armor and Phoenix were a source of great joy and happiness in her world.

Joyce had a beautiful garden and in lieu of flowers, her family would love it if friends could bring live plants to her Celebration of Life in the spring (date forthcoming) so that we can continue her beautiful gardens.

Joyce was an active member of ORFS (Outdoor Recreation for Seniors) and enjoyed kayaking throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.

Visitation will be at Chadwick’s Funeral Home in New London, NH from 3-5 on Thursday, December 23rd.

Unvaccinated friends must wear a mask to pay their respects.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the field across the road this spring or summer (date TBA).

We will all miss her dearly.

Not sure what to say?

I’m so sorry to hear about Joyce. I mostly knew her from my years working at PC’s. She always made me laugh and my thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

Joyce was certainly a friendly person. Denny and she were ying and yang--you didn't see one without the other. I always loved to visit with her because there were stories, often catching up on family info. Looking at her picture brings back memories of Dorothy Patten, her aunt and our grandmother. They were both loves. Thinking of you all during this time. Looking forward to her celebration of life.

Thanks for laughter. Rest in peace.

As a friend and neighbor, Joyce was a welcome reminder to greet each day and every experience with exuberance and love. She was a master at living life to the fullest in the moment. Intelligent, thoughtful and creative (although she would usually deny that she was in any way artistic), she filled her world and those she loved with adventure and a boundless love of life. Working hard to maintain her flower gardens that we always admired, she helped us realize that it was indeed possible to...

Denny and family, My thoughts and best wishes are with you during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Joyce´s passing It has been a while since we stopped by to visit Because of world conditions

Denny, So sorry to hear of Joyce's passing as the days and weeks pass and you return to life's routine I pray that you will be comforted by the love and support of your family and friends.

Dear Denny and family. I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. I pray that all of your memories together will provide you comfort during this most difficult time.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Joyce and I were 'neighbors' in Dunbarton NH, growing up, attending the same school together. We had a chance to visit a few years ago in Concord. Since than we kind of kept in touch on FB. This is so sad. My prayers are with you all in the family.
