Not sure what to say?

To the Mahaney Family, I only met Mrs. Mahaney at the powwows. She always spoke with the wisdom my Grandmother had. She was a magnificent inspiration to me as I walked a very lonely path on my search for the "Indian Way". She encouraged me when I did speak with her and I received encouragement through her writings, as well.
I will miss seeing her at the powwows. I am sure she will be missed by many. I pray that her spirit will live on in the people who will continue the fight for the...

To the Mahaney family,

It has been several years since we have seen Joyce, but we will always remember her dedication to all Indian people, and her determination to always do as much as she could, and she did so much! We are sorry to hear of such a wonderful Anishinaabe woman taken in her prime.

Miigwiich, Joyce, for all you have done, and our prayers are with those family & friends left behind as you walked on...

Joyce will be missed by many. I will remember the times we shared and the protections we worked to help get ancestors back on their journey. We will miss her at the pow wows we shared. Our Prayers are with your family.

My condolences, A.Garcia, a friend, has mentioned her to me.

May the Creator bless your family and give you strength to face each new day.

So sorry about your Mom, Kim.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Patrick,
We are sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. We never had the chance to meet her, but reading articles about her, she seemed to be an exceptional woman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Mahaney & Frederick Families,
Joyce was my classmate and very close friend from sixth grade to college. Though we seldom saw each other after she moved out of state, when we did, it was like the years melted away and we could talk like we did in the 60's. I did not even know she had leukemia so was very shocked at her passing. John and Howard, my condolences on the loss of your 'little sister.' Mahaney family, my thoughts are with you.

Forever in our hearts. Your spirit will live on. Your work will continue. You are home. You are free. Migwetch
