Joyce Ann (Raskett) McAuliffe, 67, passed away Friday, July 24th, after battling cancer.

She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, 7 February 1942, the daughter of William B. and Agnes K. (McCurry) Raskett.

She married Richard A. (Mac) McAuliffe in Worcester, MA on 11 April 1959. After 44 years of marriage, he predeceased her on 18 May 2003.

She and her family lived in many interesting places, including: Istanbul, Turkey; Bremerhaven, Germany; Midway Island; Winter Harbor, ME, and Atlantic Beach, FL.

After her career as a Navy Wife, she worked for many years as an associate with the Navy Lodge in Groton and as a bookkeeper for the Yellow Cab Company in Waterford. Later in life, she enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, spending time with friends, and shopping.

She is survived by her three loving sons: Richard W. and his wife Carol of Mystic, Steven J. and Kevin M. of Groton City; her granddaughters: Kerrianne J. and Briana K. of Mystic; her brother, Richard F. Raskett of Millbury, MA; many nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends and family members in New England and around the country.

She was predeceased by a son, William F. McAuliffe; two brothers: William P. and Gerald R. Raskett; as well as her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Groton. Interment will follow in Starr Burying Ground. Calling hours will be held Monday, from 3 - 6 PM at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton. Charitable contributions may be made in her memory to the VNA of Southeastern Connecticut, 403 North Frontage Rd, Waterford, CT 06385 and Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St, Norwich, CT 06360.
