I did not know Joyce personally, but treasure my memories of The Tattered Cover in all its iterations, and deeply appreciate her for creating it. Over the years, many of our out of town friends and guests asked to be taken there. It was and is a point of pride for Denver. She was a prescient voice -- speaking up and pushing against book banning and censorship, and I am grateful to her for that, too. Condolences to her family and friends.
