Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Groton- Joyce T. Myers, 82, of Groton, passed away Saturday, September 13th at LM Hospital.


She was born March 11, 1943, in Mount Olive, North Carolina, the daughter of Winford and Bloomer Mae (Fasion) Duncan.


Joyce worked as a sales associate for the former Bradlees prior to her retirement.


She is survived by her sons Daniel Duncan, Ellis Duncan, and his wife Lisa, and Bernard Myers; daughter Sylvia Duncan; adopted son Larry Myers Jr., a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Carolyn Duncan Horton, and a godson Steven Flanders.


She was predeceased by her son Larry Dean Myers, sisters Lois Hardy and Ruby Duncan, brothers Herbert and Nathaniel Duncan, and her life partner Carl Fine.


A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. at International Family Worship Center, 327 Huntington Street, New London. Burial is private.  A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

To my family.... Loosing grandma is a pain that only God can help us heal. If we stay in God and remember the life she lived i believe we will be alright. Sleep in paradise grandma!!

I worked with Joyce at Bradlees she was one of a kind for sure. A lot of funny memories working with her. RIP Joyce
