Joyce Opdyke Pence, 79, of Orleans, MA (Cape Cod) formerly of Washington, NJ and Phillipsburg, NJ died Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA. Services: A Private funeral service will be held in the Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

My sincere sympathies to Joyce's family. I knew Joyce in Orleans, MA. She was a wonderful friend to my mother who was her neighbor and to me and my sister. I am greatly saddened. Joyce will be very much missed. She was a great comfort to talk to during a recent difficult time for my family and I looked forward to staying in touch and being friends.
