Joyce Ratliff

Millfield Joyce Ann Ratliff, age 92 of Millfield, died Sunday, March 9, 2025 at her home. Born August 8, 1932 in Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. Kitchen and Ruby Azlee Gregg Kitchen.

She was a graduate of Shelby High School (NC). She was a former resident of Columbus and had resided in Millfield since 2001. She was a homemaker in the family home and enjoyed reading, flower gardening, camping and beach vacations.

Joyce is survived by a daughter, Patti (Fred) Johnson of Millfield; a son, David (Sandy) Ratliff of Blacklick; a step son, Donald (Donna) Stewart of Krum, TX; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Blanton of Forest City, NC; three sisters in law, Geneva Fox of Carey, Carolyn Cole of Upper Sandusky, and Joyce Jacoby of Carey; a brother in law, Gene (Bernice) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald E. Ratliff, who died in 2021; a son, Barry Withrow; a sister, Betty Webster; and three brothers, Larry, Lewis and Jerry Kitchen. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Danny Ortiz officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield.
