OAKLAWN FUNERAL HOME - EDNA Obituary

Joyce Faye Robinson

Joyce Faye Robinson was born to Mrs. Maggie Stovall McGrew and Mr. Eugene Stovall on December 16, 1956.

Joyce was introduced to Christ at an early age and united with Scruggs Chapel United Methodist Church in Edna, Texas, where she was baptized. Joyce’s membership remained with Scruggs throughout her life, where she served as an active member of the children and youth ministries, various choirs, and the programs and fellowship ministries.

Joyce attended public schools in Edna, Texas, and later enrolled at Ranger Junior College in Ranger, Texas. After college, Joyce worked in various technical roles in both Oceanside, California, and Port Comfort, Texas. She gained the love and respect of many coworkers, especially during her final job, which she fondly enjoyed, at Love’s Truck Stop in Edna, Texas.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Chanda Robinson; son, Chedrick Robinson (Tiffany); and grandchildren Devin Dilworth, Haleigh Robinson, Kyleigh Robinson, DeRodrick Jones, De’Ontae Jones, De’Quare Brown, Azhane Brown, Amayah Robinson, and Chadsidy Robinson; and her great-granddaughter, Macaria Jones.

She is also survived by her sisters Lynda Jean Stovall-Washington (Wendel) of Fresno, Texas, and Mary Ann Stovall-Washington (Maurice) of San Antonio, Texas; her brother Lester McGrew of San Antonio; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Maggie and Clifton McGrew; her father, Eugene Stovall; sisters Vivian Bryant, Lois Roy, and Nellie Parks-Brazille; and her son Chadrick Robinson.

A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Maurice Washington will be officiating.
