Joyce Roddy

I only learned of Joyce's passing today. She was such a joy to know. I know she is being missed greatly but just knowing she is singing praises in the presence of Jesus eases the pain.

In Nov. 2013, Mrs. Roddy attended a service at Weavers to show her kind condolences to our family for the loss of my mother, Margaret Maynard. Mrs. Roddy was as vibrant and lovely as I'd remembered her many years ago when I'd last seen her. I was so happy to introduce my three daughters to her. She shared her excitement about learning to play the organ in recent years. I enjoyed her classes at CJHS, and most of all how she taught us folk dances, especially, The Virginia Reel. She was a...

I really appreciate all that Joyce did in keeping in touch with my sister Darlene before she passed away six years ago. I'm glad they can visit together again.

Joyce and I enjoyed many wonderful memories together and even though 1000 miles apart have stayed connection via
email, etc. Recently she sent me a picture of herself playing the organ at
our First Baptist Church, reminding me that my Mother (Helen Scott) previously
played that same organ for church. She will linger on forever in these fun-filled memories. My heart goes out
to those of you in Williamson who will miss that big smile!

Mrs. Roddy will be missed, she was my instructor at the Mingo County Vo-Tech center for computer class. I really enjoyed her class. So sorry for your loss, she was a very memorable person.
