Not sure what to say?

I did my student teaching with Mrs. Sickels at Freeman School in 1968. I used many lessons I learned from her during my 29 years of teaching in Phillipsburg. She had a huge influence on my life and I have always considered myself lucky to have learned from her. She was remarkable!

So sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. When I was very young & the church was on S. Main St, I remember thinking Joyce was God. ( I was very little) My mom,Joyce Strauss, will be sad to hear this . Joyce was very good at sendind my mom little notes, since she is now at Slate Belt Nursing Home. RIP ,Joyce. You will be missed.

Joyce was also my kindergarten teacher. I loved her so much. She was a customer at Phillipsburg Pharmacy where I work. She told me I had to call her Joyce; otherwise, she wouldn't talk to me. I knew that would never happen. She gave me one of her favorite books. I will treasure that book the rest of my life. Rest in peace, Joyce. Debbie Zentrick Stefano

Joyce was also my kindergarten teacher and how grateful I am to have had one of the kindest women to have made my first year of school very memorable.

Sixty-five years ago, Mrs. Sickels was my teacher at Freeman School. I never forgot what a wonderful and beautiful woman she was. I enjoyed reading the newspaper article about her 100th birthday celebration. That made me smile. Rest in peace dear Lady, Heaven certainly has a new Angel.

Joyce was my kindergarten teacher. Even at that young age, I was inspired by her. Later I would become a teacher in Phillipsburg School District. It was wonderful working with Joyce. She was a wonderful human being and mentor. Sending prayers to her family.

Mrs. Sickels was my kindergarten teacher in 1954. I did not want to go to school. My dad carried me in to the classroom, with my head buried in his shoulder. As dad talked to Mrs. Sickels I peaked over his back. "Toys, " I said. "There are toys here. " Mrs. Sickels made learning fun. I am now a college professor. There are times someone at church says "my daughter is only a kindergarten teacher." My reply: "kindergarten teachers are the most important educators, more important than me....

Joyce, what can I say? You have inspired me for the past 27 I have been a member of Grace Church. You taught me so much about faith. You will be missed.
