I met Joyce and John in 1966, while I was working in Student Personnel Services at NSU (now UNLV). If it wasn't for John, I would not have been able to afford college. He was in charge of financial aid and whenever there was a scholarship or tuition waiver available, I was able to use it. Joyce was often by his side, even Tom and Jane would come in to the office periodically when they were small.

I came to USA & UNLV in 1970 at the age of 18 with one semester tuition fees & one semester R&B at Tonopah Hall. If it wasn't for John & Joyce Standish who helped me get a job on campus & a full next semester financial aid, I would not be in Vegas for the last 45 years.
May God give both of them a place in Heaven and the family comfort in this time of loss.
