Send FlowersSTEWART, Joyce Yvonne, 88, of Chester, passed away on August 18, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Irene Smith Redford; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Stewart. She was a WWII veteran serving with the British Royal Air Force. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her three sons, Paul Stewart and wife, Jean, Wayne Stewart and wife, Robin, and Scott Stewart; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at a later date in North Carolina. Condolences to the family may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Wayne, So sorry to hear about your mom. I found out through my mom and was glad that she & Jerry were able to attend services in NC. Would have gone to the Chester service had I known. Your mom was an inspiration to those that knew her. She never slowed down from what I could see. The last time I saw her mama was actually here and we saw her at Sam's and she told me she went to the "Y' everyday. She never let grass grow under her feet. She was indeed a trooper. Joyce was funny, lively, fiercely independent, and loved her family so much. She was an inspiration to me from the moment I met her. Wayne and Scott and family, you're in my prayers...I know how much you will miss her. She was amazing, and it was a great privilege to know her. God bless.
